Product Overview

MAXON APX is a nozzle-mixing line burner for fresh-air heating and specified low-temperature recirculating-air duties. Its body combines the gas and air manifolds in a single aluminium extrusion. The design can be arranged as a straight burner, an H pattern or an engineered grid to suit the heater’s air passage.

APX is available for wall-mounted and in-duct installations, with packaged or external combustion-air arrangements. This makes the series useful at the equipment-design stage, when burner shape, mounting access and the surrounding duct geometry can be developed together rather than fitted around a single fixed firing point.

Mounting and Burner Pattern

For wall-mounted arrangements, the firing position projects into the oven so that the flame is established beyond the mounting face. In-duct arrangements place the heat source within the passing airstream. The body and stainless-steel mixing plates provide separate paths for fuel and combustion air up to the mixing point. Selecting the correct mounting version is therefore as important as the required linear heat release.

WHERE IT WORKS

Applications

APX manufacturer application example: a 2 ft, 300 kW spray-booth duct module. This is a specific example; the required burner length and duct layout depend on the project.

01

Dryers and baking equipment

Official APX literature identifies drying and baking applications. The burner pattern is selected around the process-air passage and required temperature rise. Fresh-air and recirculating-air conditions have different ratings, which should be checked for the intended operating cycle.

02

Paint-shop make-up-air heating

APX is listed for make-up-air heating in paint shops. The burner is integrated with the air-heating section, with its duty established from incoming airflow and temperature rise. This application does not imply that every recirculated spray-booth stream is suitable without assessment.

03

Building-material production

Building-material heating is another manufacturer-listed application. A line or grid arrangement can be developed for the equipment’s air passage. Duct dimensions, minimum airflow, moisture conditions and service access are useful inputs when defining the assembly.

Choosing the Configuration

Fresh-air and recirculating-air ratings differ. A specific packaged or shaped assembly may have a lower maximum than the general linear rating shown above.

Product FAQs

Selection, supply and retrofit guidance for your APX project.

APX selection

Can APX be used with fresh air and recirculated process air?

APX is used for suitable fresh-air and low-temperature recirculated-air heating applications. The actual air temperature, composition and operating range must be reviewed for the proposed arrangement.

Provide airflow, inlet and outlet temperatures, recirculation details and the process description. Do not assume that a fresh-air rating or example layout applies unchanged to every recirculated stream.

How are APX burner length and duct layout selected?

Separate the required total heat input from the rating basis for burner length and assembly configuration. Duct dimensions and airflow distribution affect how a burner module can be arranged.

Send the duct cross-section, airflow range, burner location and available combustion-air arrangement. The spray-booth illustration is an example module, not a standard size or a complete specification for every APX project.

Supply & retrofit

What should be included in the quotation?

Define the burner length and module arrangement, together with the combustion-air supply and mounting requirements. Ignition, flame supervision, gas-train and control items should be identified individually.

Duct fabrication, process fans and installation work are separate scope items unless expressly included. A quoted burner module should be matched to the agreed air-handling conditions.

What information helps assess a retrofit?

Share the installed burner nameplate, module photos, duct dimensions and the operating airflow and temperature range. Explain the recirculation arrangement and any proposed process changes.

P&ID and electrical drawings, where available, help review the fuel train, fan interlocks and firing controls. Include the blower arrangement and access space so the proposed module can be assessed against the actual installation.

How are price and lead time confirmed?

Price and lead time depend on the selected configuration, supply scope, quantity and delivery country. Include any planned shutdown date so current availability and the required delivery date can be discussed before ordering.

What if we do not have all the technical information yet?

Start with the application, whether the installation is new or a retrofit, and any model details or photos you have. Mention available P&ID or electrical drawings in the enquiry and share them by email during follow-up.
