The Honeywell C7027A Minipeeper is a compact UV flame detector for gas, oil and combination-fuel burners. It connects to a flame safeguard control through a compatible ultraviolet amplifier and mounts on a ½-inch sight pipe. The seven models below differ in ambient rating, lead length and connection or accessory configuration.

Which Configuration Fits Your Installation?
- Ambient temperatures below −18 °C: choose C7027A1031 with a conduit clamp, or C7027A1072 / C7027A1064 with a threaded rear connection. These models are rated down to −40 °C.
- Longer wiring reach: C7027A1064 has 7.32 m leads; the other listed models have 2.44 m leads.
- DIN version: C7027A1056 is identified by its DIN listing in Honeywell documentation.
- Heat isolation and a ⅜-inch sight pipe: C7027A1080 includes the 136733 heat block and 390427B bushing.
Mounting and Electrical Connection
All seven detectors use a ½–14 NPSM internal front collar for the sight pipe. The rear electrical connection is separate: C7027A1049, C7027A1064 and C7027A1072 use a threaded spud; the other models use a flexible-conduit clamp. The included bushing on C7027A1080 adapts the front mounting to a ⅜-inch sight pipe.
Maximum sealed pressure is 5 psi (34.5 kPa) when correctly installed. The 18 AWG, NEC Class 1 lead insulation is rated for 105 °C. On C7027A1080, the heat block insulates against sight-pipe temperatures up to 130 °C; the detector ambient limit remains +102 °C.
Control Compatibility and Operating Duty
C7027A detectors work with R7849A or R7849B UV amplifiers in compatible Honeywell 7800 systems. Older documented combinations include RA890G controls and R7249A, R7290A and R7749B amplifiers.
The burner must cycle off at least once every 24 hours. R7849B provides amplifier checking, while the C7027A detector has no dynamic self-checking shutter. The selected amplifier and relay module determine the flame-failure response time.
C7027A or C7035A?
C7027A offers a compact ½-inch sight-pipe mounting arrangement and a sealed sensing tube. The C7035A series has a field-replaceable UV tube, a larger sight-pipe connection and an ambient limit of +121 °C. These construction differences matter when replacing an existing detector.
